Our Home
Rosalie Care is an intimate residence with a warm and inviting energy. Our home features a thoughtfully designed, calming colour palette that promotes relaxation and comfort. Our communal areas consist of a living and dining room suited for socialising, a reading room for quieter contemplation and a well-maintained garden and terrace, ideal for residents who enjoy gardening and to connect with nature.
In the warmer months, our tranquil garden setting offers the perfect backdrop for a variety of mindful activities. Residents can engage in yoga, tai chi or meditation, enjoy musical entertainment and art, or simply relax with a good book and a glass of wine. At Rosalie Care, we foster a sense of community and enjoyment, whilst ensuring every resident feels respected and at ease within their individuality.
Accommodation
All bedrooms are newly refurbished with serene pastel tones and fully furnished with a reclining bed, armchair, bedside table, chest of drawers, wardrobe, smart TV and WIFI. Whilst all rooms are fully furnished, we encourage residents to bring with them familiar pieces of furniture, photos and pictures, that we are happy to hang on their bedroom walls.
Each bedroom is equipped with reclining chairs from Grosvenor Mobility and handcrafted electric beds from HSL. The option to sit or sleep in a raised position can improve circulation providing relief from back or joint pain and arthritis. All bedrooms come with an ensuite bathroom.
Safety measures are at the forefront of our care. The bedrooms are equipped with call points, acoustic monitoring sensors and person-centred evacuation plans in the event of a fire with emergency lighting across the en- suites and bedrooms. We also have anti scalding valves in all bathrooms.
We have wireless internet connection throughout for use by both residents and relatives.
Food & Drink
Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available throughout the day. Red and white wine are offered with the evening meal as part of the weekly fee. Our lunch and dinner menus are updated daily, with two meal choices over a four-week rotating plan. Main menus are varied, appetizing, and nutritious to ensure residents enjoy a well-balanced diet. Hot and cold beverages plus snacks such as cakes, pastries, biscuits and fresh fruit and yoghurt are also available 24 hours a day.
Close attention is also paid to individual dietary needs, including religious and cultural requirements, as well as clinical dietary needs, food intolerances, and allergies. All of which is identified within each Care Plan. In addition, residents can decide where they dine, choosing from our communal dining room, the privacy of their own room, or the garden and terraces during warmer months.
Activities
At Rosalie Care, we promote active involvement within the community. Residents can enjoy visits to the local library, leisure centre, local shops, riverside restaurants, countryside pubs and cafes. We also schedule trips to nearby stately homes, villages and tea rooms and encourage gentle countryside walks. Scheduled outings incur an extra cost.
Within the comfort of the home, we offer gentle exercise, coffee mornings, movie nights, musical entertainment, virtual reality experiences, monthly visits from a local priest to conduct mass, mindful activities, board games and jigsaw puzzles. Our carers also invest time with residents for reminiscence. For those who enjoy hands-on activities, there is the opportunity to help maintain our beautiful garden. Alternatively, some residents prefer to relax with soothing music, a glass of wine, and a good book.
Medical
The Rosalie Care Plan consists of Local GP, dentist and optician registration as well as resident centred and age-appropriate exercise. Additional specialised mental and physical health care where needed may incur additional costs.
If an unforeseen medical emergency was to arise, our care home is conveniently located directly opposite Horton General Hospital. John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford is approximately 20 miles away.
Personalised Care
At Rosalie Care, we prioritize the well-being of our residents to help them stay healthy, independent, and happy for as long as possible. We achieve this through a holistic approach that includes preventative care measures by promoting independence, balanced nutrition, and both physical and mental stimulation. We also emphasize the importance of social interactions, fostering a sense of community that enhances overall quality of life. Our commitment to these principles ensures that every resident can thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Our process begins with a detailed assessment of each resident and careful understanding of life before care, their beliefs, faiths and cultural backgrounds (which we promise to respect and nurture), specific conditions and medical history. We believe in open communication with family members and understand the importance of key family bonds. Residents’ families are always made to feel at home at Rosalie. For special occasions, our team is on hand to help families organise small celebrations.
